Next Generation Real Estate Web Sites Coming Soon!
By HHI Golf Guy | June 5, 2007
Over the next few weeks we will begin the final phases of development and testing on our next generation of real estate web sites. Previously, our web sites used a combination of static pages combined with database access for items like featured real estate listings.
Code named RECAP (Real Estate Core Apllication), our next generation of web sites will be utilizing the Joomla! Content Management System for all items and information on the web site. Now you may be asking yourself, “Why use an open source CMS rather than design a proprietary product?”
The answer is quite simple. We do not want to hold our clients hostage to our own application when there are so many other great modules and functions that they may want to add to their web site. We will have proprietary custom applications within the site. But almost every week it seems like someone is adding a great new function or module that would benefit our clients. Why should we make them wait for a copycat development when there is already a module ready to plugin to their web site? That’s not fair to our customers.
Technology on the web is moving fast these days - even faster than in years past. Our goal is to provide customers with a platform that is easily upgradeable and expandable throughout the lifetime of the product.
Although the new core module will be the same for all sites (the old core module was also the same on our previous generation of sites) these are NOT template web sites. Each site will be formatted utilizing its own custom CSS stylesheet. Some of the features and functionality will be the same with every web site, but rest assured these will all be custom web sites.
One of the distinct advantages of moving to this CMS application is that agents will have an easy time adding content, listings, photos, and video to their web site - without having to know anything about coding, programming, or HTML.
Stay tuned for more information as we update you on the progress of this new product.

e-Neighborhood Guide Launched
By HHI Golf Guy | June 5, 2007
During the past week we launched our latest project, www.e-neighborhoodguide.com.
The concept of the site is simple. It’s a place where anyone (not just real estate people) can uploadarticles, photos, and video about their area. But rather than having the articles be an advertisement for whoever is posting, the articles are about what it is like to “live, work, and play” in specific cities, towns, or residential communities.
Oh yeah - the author also receives free one-way links.
That’s right - free one way links. There is no charge to post articles to the web site.
We’re also encouring authors to send us video to post on the site. We’ll even convert the video to a streaming Flash video for use on our site - FREE.
To participate, all you need to do is go to the site, register, and then from your member account request an upgrade to author status. You can post and upload your articles right there on the web site. Once approved, your article will be visible to all site visitors.
Along with user generated content we are also posting articles and photos from print media publications. The first publication highlighted on the site is Low Country Home magazine. Go ahead and check out the articles - you won’t believe some of the spectacular homes highlighted in their stories.

Big Announcement
By HHI Golf Guy | January 6, 2007
The Kosloff Group is proud to announce an agreement with Down South Publishers to implement the web development, web marketing, and search optimization for 200+ nationwide real estate and vacation rental web sites. With the success of their flagship site, Hilton Head 360, Down South will be expanding their print media and web markets throughout the United States.
In this unique agreement, The Kosloff Group CEO Shawn Kosloff will become an employee of Down South Publishers. This financial arrangement allows DSP to control costs while at the same time providing financial incentives and investment opportunities for Mr. Kosloff.
At the same time, The Kosloff Group will continue to service its existing clients as well as take on new clients at a reduced pace. By mid-2007 The Kosloff Group will expand its employment roster and allow for even greater growth for the company. In essence, the current arrangement with DSP is not much different than TKG taking on another portfolio.
DSP recently unveiled its latest real estate print media publication, Coastal 360 which will work in conjunction with Coastal360.com. The goal is to have Coastal360 up and running by the end of February 2007. This site will introduce the new core module for all of the 360 family of web sites and feature streaming video presentations for real estate, vacation rentals, and vacation itineraries for the areas between Charleston (SC) and Savannah (GA).
Upon the completion of Coastal360 the company will roll out sites for the South Carolina Low Country and coastal Georgia including Beaufort360, Bluffton360, Charleston360, and Savannah360. Later in 2007 the 360 family of web sites will grow to include major markets in Florida and Georgia.
One of the highlights of these web sites is the interactive mapping technology that you can see in action at the Hilton Head 360 web site. Mapping technology, imaging services, and multimedia services will be offered through the upcoming Media360.com.
It’s a great start to the new year and for years to come!
